What is Seichem?

I don’t just practice with Reiki I use Reiki & Seichem – What is Seichem?

At my practice in Ettington & Lifeways Stratford upon Avon I use Reiki & Seichem healing as a stand a lone treatment and incorporated with other treatments if necessary.

Seichem (pronounced say-keem) works in the same way as Reiki, with hands placed on the body, but in addition hands may be working in the aura which surrounds the body. It is reputedly one of the healing arts practised in ancient Egypt. Reiki is one of the four elemental rays which make up Seichem – earth (Reiki), water, air and fire.

Seichem was rediscovered in 1980 by Patrick Zeigler while he was visiting Egypt and after spending the night in the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid.

Seichem connects with our higher selves to establish healing in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The energy is used to heal and stimulate personal development and growth. Spellings of the word differ but it always means power in a spiritual sense.

Kathleen Milner brought the Seichem energy together with Reiki attunement procedures to develop the Tera-Mai healing system, incorporating new symbols that were revealed to her.

So lucky to have met Kathleen.

Sleep in the heat

Who else has taken residence by a fan and is surviving off iced drinks?

With the UK experiencing crazily high temperatures this week, many of us are spending the nights wrestling with our sheets and struggling to get a good night’s sleep. Luckily, there are ways to keep cool and beat the bedtime heat.

Before bed:

  1.   Cooling shower

Cool off from the day with a cold-water shower. Not Whim Hoff ready for the cold? Apply cool cloths evenly to your body instead.

Bonus tip: Use lavender to make your bedtime wash both refreshing and relaxing.

  1.   Keep the blinds closed

During the day, keep your blinds and curtains closed to stop the sun from heating your bedroom– no one wants to sleep in greenhouse heat!

Bonus tip: keep your windows closed during the day, especially on the sunny side of your home, but open them before bed to let a breeze through.

In your sleep space:

  1.   Ditch the duvet

Take off your bedding and, if you feel you need a cover, keep on just the sheet. Feel free to leave your feet sticking out to cool down the whole body.

Bonus tip: Give your sheets a spritz of lavender to help you unwind.

  1.   Use a fan

Who isn’t a fan of fans at the moment? Place one by your bed to create a cooling breeze.

Bonus tip: Put a tray of ice cubes in front of your fan to cool the air blown around the room.

Consistency is key:

  1.   Stick to your routine

Changing your routine when the weather changes can be tempting, but that will only confuse your already established sleep-wake pattern. Try as best you can to avoid afternoon naps (unless your sleep is really suffering!) and stick to your usual morning and night-time routine.

Introduction to Reflexology – What it is and how it can help?

Hi, my name is Jayne Amanda from Reflexology and Reiki Warwickshire. I’m a fully qualified Reflexology and Reiki Master and have been practicing for over 20 years.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural therapy based in the belief that your hands and feet are connected to certain organs and body systems. By applying pressure to specific areas on your hands and feet a Reflexologist can help your body restore balance.

Reflexology aims to create a state of harmony between mind and body.

Who is Reflexology for?

Reflexology is for everyone, anyone at any age can receive a therapy session. It is a very individual treatment that can be tailored to your own personal needs.

How can Reflexology help?

Reflexology can benefit a wide range of conditions, here are a few of the more common conditions:

  • Sinusitis
  • Bowel Syndrome
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Stress & tension
  • Depression
  • Hay fever & other allergies
