My daughter has the right idea, she deletes social media apps from her phone.
Headspace and control of time is why she does this.
During that peaceful week between Christmas and New Year I planned to pick up a book I had started back in November. I had time and space but no my phone drew me in and time just goes. I sale shopped and got absorbed by the stories and adverts on social media - it is good to know what is going on locally but..... and now I am being sent things to watch on Instagram by family and friends too and you feel obliged to engage with them.
How do I learn to distance myself from my phone? I pick it up if there is something scary on the TV and use it a comfort blanket when bored. I don't take it upstairs - which is a good thing but the relationship with my phone has to change.
May be a late New Year resolution is needed - what do you suggest?
